Professor (emeritus) dr. Krijn de Jong, MCC group leader from 1997 till 2021, received an honorary professorship from Xiamen University on November 19^th 2025. The professorship was awarded to him in view of his long-standing cooperation with Xiamen University and his advice on their research in Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces.

Later that month, on November 29^th, prof. dr. Krijn de Jong was appointed as International Think Tank Expert for the Shanghai Green Fuel Innovation Hub. This think tank is focused on accelerating the innovation and scale-up of catalytic technology for conversion and/or storage of CO₂-emmissions from the transport sector.
