On December 2nd & 3rd, MCC traveled to Veldhoven for the annual Dutch chemistry conference NWO CHAINS! The boards were filled with MCC posters; many PhD students, postdocs, and MSc students were proud to present the results of their hard work.

Besides the poster presentations*, there were also speakers from MCC presenting or participating in Focus Sessions. Juliette Verschoor presented her work on “Metal hydride/carbon-based nanocomposites as catalysts for ammonia synthesis at moderate conditions” in the Parallel Session on Chemical Conversion, and Dr. Nong Artrith was a speaker in the Focus Session on “Recent progress in machine learned force fields”.

At the end of the conference, there was also a surprise prize for who won a “bonding” activity with fellow CHAINS-attendees, which was won by our very own Harsh Wadhwani! Congratulations Harsh with your CHAINS prize.
