Our group members participated in the 18th International Congress on Catalysis, which was held in Lyon on July 14-19, 2024. Prof. dr. Petra de Jongh was invited as keynote speaker for this congress (Image 1-2). Additionally, prof. dr. Petra de Jongh and dr. Jessi van der Hoeven were part of the organization for the themed sessions at ICC18.
The MCC group member presented with the following talks:

Prof. Dr. Petra de Jongh: Bimetallic Ni-Cu and Cu-Pd (de)Hydrogenation Catalysts – Particle Size and Composition Effects. (Image 2)
Dr. Sergei Cherniak: Low-temperature and high-pressure reverse water-gas shift over Cu-catalysts: alkali metal promotion boost. (Image 3)
Dr. Peter Ngene: Nanoconfined metal hydrides as TM-free catalysts for ammonia synthesis. (Image 4)
Kristiaan Helfferich: Pd-M/SiO2 catalysts for selective hydrogenation. (Image 5)
Hidde Nolten: The effect of Ag addition to Au catalysts for the oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid. (Image 6)
Dr. Nienke Visser: Direct observation of Ni nanoparticle growth in carbon supported nickel under carbon dioxide hydrogenation atmosphere. (Image 7)

Dr. Jessi van der Hoeven chaired the session on “Preparation of heterogeneous catalysts“.
Congratulation to Sergei on being awarded the “Young Talent” label of excellence!
Moreover, dr. Min Tang, who was a postdoc in MCC (and is now pursuing a postdoctoral fellowship in Antwerp) was also awarded the “Young Talent” label of excellence. Congratulations Min!
